If you think that its fairly simple and straightforward you can certainly file yourself.  You can go to your nearest federal courthouse and get the forms for free or you can purchase a self-help kit for minimal cost; you can look online for these kits.

If however paperwork is not your thing or your affairs are somewhat complicated you may want to retain the services of an attorney.  What the going rate is in your area I don't know.  Your best bet is to call around to several law offices that specialize in this and ask what the typical price range is for a personal bankruptcy.
