I SAT DOWN TO EAT WHEN THE PLASTIC CHAIR BROKE INTO APPROX 4 PCS.THE WAITRESS RAN OVER TO SEE IF I WAS OK.MY WIFE THEN SHOWED UP AND I ASKED HER TO GET LADY NEXT TO US PHONE NUMBER IN CASE WE NEEDED IT.NEXT DAY WENT TO CHIROPOCTER (MONDAY) TUESDAY WENT TO LOCAL ER WITH CHEST PAIN. WENT TO PRIMARY CARE DR .THEN OTHROPEDIC DOING P.T.3 DAYS A WEEK . SEVERE BACK SPAISMS .CHEST SPASIMS.OUT OF WORK OVER 2 MONTHS,WILL BE BACK NEXT WEEK. This sounds as if it has the making of a good case. You have witnesses. There was an injury. There also likely will be a report on file I assume.

Chairs should not be breaking apart, and unless you are truly HUGE or were told NOT to sit in a plastic chair or it was obviously damaged before you sat down or you have a history of filing claims, it seems the restaurant and/or the manufacturer would be found at fault (negligent) as restaurant chairs just should not break.

BUT get to a Connecticut lawyer (I assume this happened in CT) right away to ask. Go to www.AttorneyPages.com and find a personal injury or insurance lawyer (as the chain's insurance company will defend) to represent you.

Generally chiropracters are looked at rather suspiciously by insurance companies so let the lawyer suggest what doctors you should see. And I hope you recover right away
