Dating During Divorce Proceedings

Although most people do it, what are the ramifications of dating someone else before a divorce is final? What if you are legally separated?

If you are legally separated with a separation agreement that has been signed by both parties, your rights and obligations should be stated somewhere in there.  Most agreements have a provision that provides for the circumstances you are asking about and makes it ok to date before the divorce is final.  Read yours carefully.  If you do not have an agreement you should check with your divorce attorney to see if the court has issued any order that talks about the issue.
