Damaged car in parking lot 3 years ago.

My wife sideswiped a car in a parking lot about 3 years ago. We exchanged information with the gentleman and agreed to pay for repairs. He call us about every 6 months to again ask for our address to send a bill and he never does. What is the statute of limitations for this type of auto damage in the State of NJ? Thank you.

The time limit to sue for damage to property is six years, under N.J.S.A. 2A:14-1.
