What to do if I couldn’t go to work this morning because my neighbor who lives in the same apartment building with me was blocking my car?

I end up calling in sick. The owner of the vehicle decided to go to work and left the car unattended as it is blocking my car. Do I have the right to ask for compensation for the 8 hours of work that I missed for the day? I truly don’t want use my PTO time at work but I also want to get paid for the day.

Your neighbor may be liable for your lost wages, since you lost them due to her negligence, or unreasonably careless, act in blocking your car in. You would have to sue her for the money, if she won't pay voluntarily, which, however, may not be worth it--even if you acted as your own attorney in small claims court, you'd have to take additional time from work for the lawsuit, and could not recover for that additional time.
