car accident – other driver’s fault

Our new car was damaged in a collision which was the other driver’s fault. Their insurance company sent us to a dealer which gave a repair estimate of $400.00. We went to 2 other dealers which gave esimates of $1300.00-1400.00. The insurance company is only willing to honor the 1st esimate even though the car will not be repaired to our satisfaction. What can we do?

How will it not be repaired to your satisfaction? Does the $400 estimate cover all the parts that were damaged and the labor needed to repair those parts? Did  the insurance company inspecrt the vehicle themselves? Are there any parts that the $400 estimate did not cover, that are in fact covered by the higher estimates?  If not, then you're probably stuck with the $400.00 estimate unless you can show a material difference between the lower estimate and the higher ones.
