can your employer fire you because of time change

I’m a single mother of one child l3 years old and a truck driver for 4 years. I’ve been reporting to work at 6 am always on time never been late on deliveries and 100% job performance. We have a new driver manager and I was told that my time would have to change at 5 am. Can they fire me for not coming at 5 am?

Does this action violate the terms of a union agreement or employment contract? Does it constitute some form of legally actionable discrimination? If not, then as an "at will" employee, your company can set the conditions of work much as it sees fit. The fact is that generally speaking, an employer can discharge a worker for the reason you give, or for any reason, or for no reason at all, with or without notice. Unfortunately, you will either have to comply with the time change, refuse to work it and risk termination, or quit.
