Can you be terminated from employment while on medical leave?

I was recently terminated while on medical leave from my job. I recently got a part time job and my manager and GM told me I had to choose between them. While in the meeting the following monday with the owner of the company he stated he didnt care about labor laws or conflict of interest that he was going to run his company the way he saw fit. He told the GM to call my doctor and get me off medical leave and he called my doctor.

Your question is somewhat broadly written in order to give you a concrete answer with any specificity. However, if you were terminated by your employer why you were on medical leave in retaliation of you having a part time job which did not interfere with your main job, possibly your termination was improper.

I suggest that you consult with an attorney who practices in the area of employment law further and/or your local department of labor.
