Can my ex-husband take my car if it is in his name but awarded to me in our divorce?
I have been paying him for insurance and car payments every mont but he refuses to put my name on the title. He says that I needed to do it in the 2 1/2 months after divorce. He is threatening me by saying that I need to either give it to his parents this weekend to ship to him, or he’s sending a sheriff out to arrest me.

Unless there is some law that is specific to the state of Indiana that says that you need to change the name over in that time frame - or you agreed to it in the divorce (which I can not believe that you would be time barred because of it) - then you need to go back to court and to get him to transfer the title to you. Although one would need to read the agreement in its entirety, I bet that he is in violation of the court order (the divorce decree) and he can be held in contempt. Call your attorney and ask him or her how to proceed. Good luck.
