can my employer require sales people to clock in and out?

Im a mortgage loan originator in Florida and have
been working as a W2 employee being paid
commission only. Now the employer wants to require
us to punch in and out everyday. Is this legal?? It is
demoralizing at best. Thank you.

Yes, your employe can make you clock in and out. That is unless it constitutes some form of legally actionable discrimination or violates the terms of an employment contract/union agreement. The fact is that most work relationships are "at will' which means that a company can set the conditions of employment much as it sees fit.
