Can my employer force me to quit school?

I’ve been in school for 2 years and have been with my company for 3 years. My boss just told me I can no longer work my school schedule and if I don’t show up the time he wants me to I’ll be written up. He isn’t responding to any of my messages, calls or emails. Can he legally do this?

Do you have an employment contract or union agreemnt that provides you protection in this situation? Is scheduling you to work these new hours against company policy? Does your treatment consitute some form of legally actionable discrimination? If not, then your employer can set your schedule as it deems necessary. The fact is that in "at will" employment, a company can set the conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit. This is true even if it interferes with your school schedule. While seemingly unfair, it is legal.
