Canmy landlord video tape inside my apartment without consent?

The landlord did not give reasonable notice before entering apartment. She came to my door at 9 am to inform me an inspector was coming into my unit between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm. The inspector did not show up in this time. I refused to give her consent to enter later because I was not home at 2 pm and she went in and videotaped while she was there.

Under the laws of all states in this country, a landlord can enter a tenant's unit upon reasonable notice which typically is 24 hours for repairs, inspections and the like. During such entry, the unit can be photographed and videotaped with or without the tenant's consent.

From what you have written, what was done was allowable under the law albeit not a good judgment call by the landlord since you were not at home and you did not give consent for the later entry.
