can I put single as a marital status if im married outside the usa?
I got married 2 years ago in the philippines, we are
both greencard holder and it didnt work out. i am
filing my citizenship, can I claim that im single since
we only use philippine marriage certificate on health
insurance and turbo tax and thats it. I did not change
my name on my documents. i still have the same
greencard

If your marriage was lawful in the Phillipines, then it is legal in the U.S. This country recognizes valid foreign marriages. Accordingly your marital status is not "single". If you want to not be married, then you will need to file for a divorce.

The United States recognizes marriages from or in other countries, and oncer married, you are married until and unless you divorce or the marriage is annulled. If you were married in the Philippines, your marital status is "married" and to indicate otherwise would be to commit fraud on whatever form you are filling out (e.g. for citizenship). If you don't want to be married any longer, divorce.
