Not sure I understand the background, but usually the trouble is enrollment periods not cancellation periods.  Does your employer pay it all as part of your salary/benefits package? Do you contribute out of your salary a certain sum per pay period?

Do you have another source of medical insurance, like through a spouse?

 

In terms of cancellation, check the following so you won't be caught with extra fees or medical bills you incurred but due to cancellation will not be covered:

1. Your cancellation/termination clause in your medical insurance contract; and

2. The Maryland Insurance Administration.
