In an "at will" employment relationship, a worker can be fired for any reason or no reason at all. That is unless doing so constitutes some form of legally actionable discrimination. Also, it must not violate th terms of a union agreement/collective bargaining agreement or employment contract. Otherwise, a company can set the condtions of the workplace much as it sees fit.
