All states have statutes that define what a driver is obligated to do after an accident.

Usually, if someone is involved in an accident with an unattended vehiclele they must:

Locate and notify the operator or owner of the vehicle and provide their name, address, and the registration number of the vehicle causing the damage; or

Attach securely in a conspicuous place on the vehicle a written notice with the same info.

Failure to do one or the other can result in being charged with a crime.

Hope this helps
