Can I be charged twice for the same crime, by 2 different offices?
I am being charged with telecommunications harassment, by a sheriff deputy and a police officer, for the same occasion, date, etc.

Technically, only the district attorney's office in the county and state where the alleged event involving you happened can charge you with a crime. However, two different law enforcement offices can write up reports with respect to you (sheriff and police officer) and send such reports to the district attorney's office for possible filing of a charge or charges and prosecution.
