Can I be arrested on the way to a deferred court appearance?

My father was arrested this morning on his way to walk to the court that he had deferred because we missed the first appearance due to a failure to keep accurate notes. We paid the court $100 to have the date moved, and now he was arrested for Failure to Appear just before we could have the warrant dropped. on top of that they took approximately 8 hours before booking him.

Sadly, anytime you have a warrant outstanding you can be arrested.  Even if you have a court date scheduled to quash to warrant.
