The owner of the companythat I work for was telling his friend and another employee how much I make.

If there is no confidentiality agreement between you and the company, or unequivocal confidentiality policy in regards to wages in effect at the company, then yes, the owner may do this. Absent a contract or firm policy, the law does not make wages, salary, etc. confidential, and an employer could elect to discuss an employee's wages with anyone at all.
