Can an employer disclose wage information to a landlord?

A prospective landlord is asking for income verification from my employer, can they disclose that information?

If you allow your employer to do so then yes, they can.  Some employers (and states) do not give out such informtation.  But a landlord has a right to verify employment and even income.  You yourself can give them a copy of your pay check stub, etc., as part of the process to see if this will help.  But they want to know you can pay the rent and that is their right.  Good luck.
