Can a mall owner collect rent from2 tenants for the same space?
My lease starts on 05/01 but we won’t be moving in until 07/01. Mall is leasing the space until 06/01 to existing tenant. Should I be responsible to rent from 05/01 – 06/01?

No, you should not. If your lease starts on 5/01 then you have every right to be on the premises and your lease should say that he delivers it vacant. If it is not vacant then it is a breach of the agreement. I would speak with your landlord about this and maybe re- think this lease with this guy. Good luck.
