Can a husband change his beneficiary on life insurance without his wife’s knowledge?

He’s taking cancer treatment on a lot of medication and I have no idea what he is thinking.

It is entirely possible that a husband who has a life insurance policy on his life can change the designated beneficiary upon it without the knowledge or consent of his spouse. If you have such concerns, I suggest that you contact the insurance broker with whom the life insurance policy was placed to see what the status of the designated beneficiary is.

The basis for doing so is that presumably marital funds are used to pay for the policy of insurance and as such you have the right to know who the designated beneficiary is.
