Can a credit card company file a claim against you for collection of debt
granter terminated credit card, had to do with terms and agreement, would not verify where it was stated. Lost 51,000 points and approx.$1,000 cash rebate. No one would talk to me. I stopped paying. Just was informed that a claim was being filed against me for monies owed. What are my options?

The short answer is please read the credit card agreement carefully, but if yours is like most card agreements, it is undoubtedly wholly one sided and the credit card company holds all the cards. It probably provides that the credit card company can sue you, or take you to mandatory arbitration. It also probably provides for forfeiture of all points.
If you owe money it can bring legal action to recover the money. If you have a defense and/or a counterclaim, you can assert the defense and counterclaim in the litigation.
