It is difficult to answer your question without more specific information. In short the law usually applies as such: a creditor can freeze your bank account and remove the funds up to the amount of a judgment in many states. I do not know your states specific laws on this topic but assuming VA allows bank accounts to be frozen in order to do so the creditor must first have a valid judgment against you

If there is no judgment than they cannot do anything of that sort. If there is a judgment you should contact whomever it is with to try and set up a payment plan to ensure this does not happen
