Cam a magazine company make me pay down the line if I was scammed?
I was recently the victim of a telephone scam that tricked me into subscribing to 6 magazines for $60 a month, for 5 years. They told me that I already had an account with them and they were trying to save me money, since I get a lot of magazines I believed them. After fighting with them on the phone I canceled the credit card that I gave them. Then they called me back and said that they would cancel as a one time curtsy, however I am still getting the magazines 4 months later. I emailed each magazine company and some have stopped sending them. Should I be worried about having to pay later?

If you are still getting magazines that you cancelled due to the scam that you have written about, I suggest that you write the company or companies that are sending you the magazines and ask that the mailings stop. Keep a copy of the letter for future use and need.
The only way the magazine company can bring the issue of payment for the publications to a head is to file a small claims court case against you. If you believe you are in the right and have validly cancelled the subscriptions, you should not be concerned if you might have a demand for payment later.
