The owners cannot simply decide to not rent once they have agreed to do so: failing to rent to you is a breach of contract. If you contracted directly with the homeowners, you could sue them for the difference in rental cost, since you are required to pay that due to their breach, as well as for any other costs you thereby incurred; if you contracted with the real estate company, you sue them (and they could then in turn sue the homeowners for reimbursment of what they pay out).
