Am I responsible if someone says that my car door hit their car?

A lady in a car parked next to me says that my passenger (neighbor’s 12 year old daughter) hit her car with my car door. I did not see or hear this and the child does not remember if she accidentally did this or not. Since the lady insisted, I gave her my phone number. When she had her husband call, they told me that hey got estimates and the lowest one was for $478. I told them I would not pay since I did not know that any damage occurred from my car (I did not witness it). Now they are driving past my house and sending certified mail. I am concerned since I never gave my address.

Talk to the passenger to find out whether she hit her car. Ask for proof from the lady. You should let your insurance company to handle this.
