Am I required to pay rent for a sublease I backed out of even though a replacement tenant has been found?
I backed out of a sublease agreement upon which I agreed to pay the security deposit. However, the subleasor has since found a new subletter but wants me to pay a portion of 1 months rent since the new subletter will not be moving in until later. Am I still legally liable to pay this?

You would be liable for the rent until the place is re-rented; however, until the new tenant is in physical possession of the premises, the new tenant is not yet liable for rent. Therefore, you would remain liable for the rent until the new tenant moves in.
