Dating is "allowed" any time--even when married. Of course, they may be consequences to it, including to any distribution of assets, support orders, and/or child custody, especially one party of the other bring legal proceedings.

So much depends on the exact facts, your situation, etc. You could consult with a family or divorce law attorney, for advice related to your situation; you should also discuss with the attorney generally whether legal separation is the best option for you or if you should look at going ahead with divorce, etc. as a way to make sure there are no entanglements.
