If according to a newspaper, the house I’m renting was foreclosed on last weekand the auction is next month, what are my rights/responsibiities?
My landlord hasn’t told me anything. I paid my rent to him on the 5th, a day after the foreclosure date. Did I owe him that rent? And what am I supposed to do now?

You still have a right to possession of the house for now and you still have an obligation to continue paying the landlord rent until his/her time period for "redeeming" or undoing the foreclosure has ended. This is usually around six months. If the landlord does not get the house back, you can negotiate a lease with the new owner or end the lease and find a new residence.
