Insurance Question from Daytona Beach, FL
Asked on 07/20/2010
What type of insurance coverage do I need? I am purchasing a 2005 manufactured home on it's own land and want to know hat type of insurance I should buy - homeowners or mobile home insurance?
Answer given on July 25, 2010
Insurance companies each have their own way of insuring a manufactured home. You need to speak to an insurance agent and see what they recommend for this insurance. Some companies have specific policies for manufactured homes and some use the standard homeowner policy while most use the mobile home policy.
Some conditions apply for this insurance. Many companies want the home in a certified mobile home park. Some will allow the home to be on private land, but they may want a permanent foundation for the home. You should talk to multiple insurance companies to see the best option for your situation. There are companies that specialize in this type of insurance so be sure to check out all options.
