If an adjuster was involved in the claim for the repair of your mother’s roof, they should have made it clear that they needed to see the roof before any repairs began. Since the insurance company recommended a roofer, it seems the roofer’s determination of the condition of the roof should be sufficient information for the insurance company.Have your mother talk to her agent to see if they can intervene for her in this case. Also ask the roofer to contact the insurance company since they were sent out to view the roof. If your mother has the name of the person from the insurance company who called about the color of the shingles, that too will be most helpful. If she cannot get any settlement, ask her to talk to a supervisor from the claims department and review the entire claim with them. Again, any dates and names from the contact will help your mother in this case.
