My car was stolen 9 days ago. I was told the car was in an accident and was totaled. I made the claim but its been very hard to get in contact with adjuster. I left several messages, granted i did miss 2 calls. Is 9 days to long is this bad faith? Is not hearing from insurance adjuster 9 days after car was stolen bad faith? I have left several messages asking him to call me.

If your car was stolen and you have not heard from the adjuster yet, I don’t think I would call this bad faith. You admit that you missed two calls from the adjuster, even though you have called several times. Right now, in Florida, I’m sure the adjusters are a bit overwhelmed with various claims due to the hurricanes, whether it was in your area or not.  Generally insurance companies want to settle claims quickly, usually within 30 days, or an explanation is needed to the supervisor and/or Dept of Insurance.

You can call the insurance company and ask to speak to a supervisor if you do not hear from the adjuster in the next couple of days.  Leave a message asking if they can have their supervisor call  you if they are too busy. That may get their attention and call you back, or they could have the supervisor call you.
