There is usually a clause in the auto insurance policy outlining coverage when the named insured is deceased.You should call the insurance company again and tell them the estate is still being settled. They will need driver information on whoever is using the car. In this case, it would most likely be you, since you are the heir. If you have moved the car from the original state, then the insurance will need to be rewritten to the new state. You should contact your insurance company to see if they can work with you in this matter if you have moved the car. If you have not, then the current insurance company should be willing to work with you on the insurance.
