If your car was damaged by another party by them backing into you, their insurance company should pay for your repairs. However, if the car’s actual cash value is lower than the repairs, then the other insurance company is only required to pay the value of the car.You need to talk to the adjuster and have them explain why they are only offereing the lower amount. If it is because the car is considered a total loss, then you will need to try to work on getting a higher amount for that value. You can do this by checking local ads for the same car. You can also use the internet to check values, but they must come from your area, since car values can be very different in other parts of the country. If the adjuster is not considering the car a total loss, then you need to find out why they are offering such a low amount.
