Insurance Question from Camas, WA
Asked on 09/29/2010
injured foot What kind of figure should I come up with if someone hit me on my motorcycle and badly bruised my foot? I also received road rash on three parts of my body. My foot took three weeks to feel good enough not to take Tylenol. How do I figure out a price?
Answer given on September 30, 2010
Did you miss any work? Did you have any medical bills?
If you didn’t have anything along those lines, getting anything for “pain and suffering” is probably not going to happen.
If Tylenol took care of your problem, it wasn’t anything serious.
As far as “figuring out a price” … you should leave that up to your attorney.
When I did accident investigations, the attorney would typically add up all of your expenses (lost wages, medical bills, etc. ) and multiply it by ten, and start from there.
But since you don’t appear to have been badly injured, and your own insurance likely picked up the tab ( except for any out of pocket you may have had ), you’re probably not going to get anything other than any out of pocket, IF you want to ask for it.
Good luck.
