Insurance Question from Orlando, FL

I was under car accident as passenger, if the driver has not insurance coverage will be my mom insurance policy increase on the next premum NULL

Answer given on December 12, 2012

If you were a passenger in a car that caused an auto accident, and the driver did not have insurance, the only recourse you have is with your own insurance.Your insurance policy will need to include medical payments coverage if you are asking for reimbursemet of medical expenses. The most you can collect is under that amount. You might also be able to collect through the uninsuredunderinsured coverage of your policy You need to call your agent or insurance company to file the claim. Give them the details of the driver of the car who caused the accident. If your insurance company ends up paying you for your injuries they may try to collect from the other driver, even though he did not have insurance.Since you were a passenger, the accident is not considered to be your fault. Your insurance company will not increase your rates for this claim, even though they will pay out for the accident.
