Was your roof in visibly poor condition before the storm? Does your ceiling in your home show any prior water damage or leaking? If the answer to both of these questions is “no”, then you should contact your department of insurance in the State of North Carolina and file a complaint. Explain in your letter or complaint that you feel the insurance company is denying your claim in bad faith. It is possible that you can be unaware of a leak until it causes further damage. You may want to also consult a lawyer to give you guidance on how to pursue your insurance company and claim your damages. To contact an attorney in your state, click here
