Insurance Question from Fontana, CA

My landlord has had homeowners insurnace for at least 6 years and I received a letter that it was canceled. He is wrongfully evicting me for excercisong my rights to withhold my rent until he fixed a major electrical problem and he served me with a UD Why would he cancel the homeowners insurnace right after I caught him lying about a licensed electrician to work on the problem? Is he supposed to have landlords insurance if he is renting ? It wouldn't just be a mistake because he had it for 6 years at least. The problem was he was not maintaining the home and it cost me 10,000.00 for a AC unit not being maintained . He brought in his own electrician to say there was not problem with it but I had 3 licensed pros say the same problem. I check his electricians license and it wasn't his and it was also suspended . Why he wouldn't just hire a real pro licensed worker is I believe he didn't want to pay me the money for his negligence. But then I received info about canceling homeowner insurance and maybe he didn't want to pay the higher price. But I'm being affected by it and he's trying to put all the blame on me and probably use his new landlord insurnace if there is one to pay him for lost rent and fixing the AC because it was gonna cost o we 10,000. So we're dealing with a pretty good amount he would be out of pocket . Please help if you can on the possible insurnace fraud and how I should maybe tell the insurnace company about this.
