I’ve been a policyholder w/ Bristol West for approx. 3 years now without issue until my car was stolen. 2 weeks following the theft and my acount rep is never available. She has informed me to expect my claim to remain open under investigation for at least another month and that one such claim of hers has been open for 150 days. Days after i had already found and seen the car at impound, they had had no idea it was even recovered, and i had to tell them thias information.. (forget that i only have 2 weeks left on my rental before their “reimbursement” runs out.. how much do you want to bet they are not going to be paying that in a timely manner either.. or at all)
AVOID THIS COMPANY AS THOUGH YOUR CAR OWNERSHIP DEPENDED UPON IT… 11/27/07

if you get into an accident with another insured driver and they have a policy limit issue bristol will want to save their losses by not paying you regardless if its your fault or not

we had a tornado hit our town, we recently switched from american family to bristol west to “save money”.. well our car was totaled. we went to file our claim and our policy just happened to lapse 11 hours before tjhe tornado hit. I was only a few days late on the payment. If i was still insured with american family i know they would have covered it. A little tip for ya.. if you want to save money on insurance pick a diferent company. This one does not give a damn about its customers!!!

my son was in a accident with my vehicle that was not his fault the other driver did not have insurance,my son does not live with me so he did not need to be on my policy. After waiting almost 3 weeks and getting frustrated they told me to send the vehicle to the body shop,the body shop totaled out the vehicle and now im still waiting for the adjuster to put his opinion in the computer this is 1 month later.

A nightmare…six month nightmare. They do not return phone calls, use incredible delay tactics and offered a settlement that was a fraction of what it cost.

6 months of getting the runaround after needing repair to burst pipe. Work was incomplete, meagre settlement given. Asked for money back given for job that contractors didn’t turn up to do. Was treated by a criminal and accused of being a fraud, lies that contractors had gone out of business. Not what I call customer service after 5 years without a claim … that was when finally managed to get hold of somebody on the phone. Terrible, avoid like the plague.

this insurance company’s customer service practices are a complete joke. they won’t let you make changes to your policy online, and when you try to follow the proper procedures to do so, they make it near impossible. they do not return your calls. i have been trying to fax in my request to remove a vehicle for 5 DAYS NOW and finally today i get through to a representative who assures me that she would take care of my account and that she would call me back today and guess what? she never did. all i needed to do was remove one vehicle and obtain a new quote for just the remaining one. now they have just pushed me to the point where i never want to deal them again. now i just want to cancel my damn policy. and i will be reporting them to the California Dept. of Insurance…

This company needs to be investigated by the Texas Attorney Gernerals Office. They are crooked and I cannot believe they are allowed to sell policies in Texas. Wake up

Farmers agents are reselling their existing clients over to a Bristol West policy which is not a good thing. Buyer Beware!

My premium kept going up every month because they supposedly did not received documents which I did indeed send to them.

I leased my car for $14,500 and and was only able to pay $3,500 before the car got totaled on an ice storm. My full coverage plan costed me $500 per month. All I got from them after losing my car was $8,800 five months after the accident. So I still had to pay the car dealership $2,200, lost my car, and lost my payments.

I opened an insurance policy (auto) with Bristol West about 2 years ago. Was promised a rate deduction after the initial six month period. What I have got was a continual increase in cost, without explanation!. I would simply get a notice about a month prior to the end of the date for renewal, that I owed an additional $278.00 due within 30 days or my policy would be cancelled. And every six month period I would get this notice. This after having paid the full amount owed at the time I would renew my policy. They have refused to explain to me why I would get these notices! So I cancelled and went with another insurance company.

Very dissatified with the settlement. I am still in pain and was paid very little. Was off work with no income and could not get any compansation. This company sucks

Took over 1 month to determine fault and over 2 years to pay for out-of-pocket expenses. The adjuster said this is typical for Bristol West. Other insurance companies pay immediately and investigate fault much faster.

Keep asking us to sign a waver saying our daughter who was married 7 years ago and lives 20 miles away does not drive any of our vehicles

Been covered for over 2 years when truck got stollen took them 3 montes to deny claim and finally release my escalade For 3 months I still payed the monthly fee plus the loan on my truck and got back a burnt truck Avoid these criminals at all cost

As an independent insurance agent for over 25 years I can honestly tell you this is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. They hide behind the Farmers name but don’t allow that to convince you they are a reputable company. Nothing is further from the truth.

The adjuster said “we aren’t paying for that”. Verbatim. Wow. They have witness testimony of my car being vandilsed and yet say they don’t know how the damage could occur. Comprehensive coverage. Not true.

Excellent driving record, no accidents,no claims,auto withdrawal for payments. Just received notice that my payment is close to doubling no explanation,no return phone call from any one not Bristol not farmers. Stated I was going to make a complaint and suddenly “my bank wouldn’t honor my payment’ What a joke they never processed the account has enough money.Went on line checked complaints all over everywhere this appears to be a common practice of retaliation. Stay far away from this company and Farmers. Disgusting behavior. They should be investigated in each by that states Attorney General.Beyond Bait switch and Fraud.
