Insurance Question from Belmont Shore, CA

Asked on 09/26/2011

Which insurance company has the best service & fair pricing in the event of an accident? I am in CA insuring a 2008 Mitsubishi eclipse spyder GT I am with AAA but they raised my rate due to an at fault accident. I am looking to switch to geico, Progressive, Amica or another company you might recommend. Thanks

The best thing to do in this situation is to get a quote from several different carriers to see who would offer you the best rate on your particular car as well as with the at-fault accident on your record. Different carriers rate an accident differently. So check around! When you select a carrier, ask them about their claim procedures–Do you contact your agent? Do you contact the insurance company directly? Is there a 24 hour 800 number or will you have to wait until the morning or next business day? Check out the insurance carrier at AM Best website. This site gives you ratings on all insurance companies. Try to stick with a company that has an AA+ to A rating.
