The best thing to do is call Safeco’s toll free number.  Tell them you are thinking about purchasing a new car and would like to know if it will increase your premium.  They will ask you for the VIN# (the vehicles identification number).  If you do not have a specific Honda civic in mind, tell them you don’t have a VIN number yet but describe the car as much as possible (2 door coupe, V6, with hatch, 2.1 liter engine, etc).  They will then look up the rating on the vehicle and quote you what your premium would be if you added that car to your insurance with full coverage.  Also, let them know if you plan to trade in your car or if you plan to keep it insured on your policy as well.  Don’t forget to always get comparison quotes to see if they Safeco is offering you the best rate on your new car.  To get a comparison rate quote, click here.
