Ms. Martin joined Advice Company as Chief Editor of the legal content on FreeAdvice, responsible for ensuring that the content was straightforward, correct, and readable for the consumer. In addition, she worked on writing monthly FreeAdvice newsletter columns for media, lawyers, and consumers. Ms. Martin later assumed responsibility for internal staff and HR operations. Prior to joining the Company, she was employed for almost 30 years by the nationwide legal publisher, Commerce Clearing House, and served as an executive editor of its state tax publications. Later, she managed its California-based practice systems software unit, and served as a corporate officer. She is a graduate of Dominican University. In her after-hours position, she delights in the surprises personalities, and the infectious laughter of her grandchildren.
Patricia Gima is a senior member of the Advice Company content team with over 15 years in the publishing industry. Ms. Gima has served as a writer and editor for Nolo.com and for the legal publisher, Matthew Bender, editing numerous titles from fighting your traffic ticket to knowing your rights as a tenant, and co-authoring three books, including Nolo's Pocket Guide to California Law, The Trademark Registration Kit and Domain Names: How to Choose & Protect a Great Name for Your Website. Ms. Gima practiced law in San Francisco as a partner in Creative Media Law Group, specializing in corporate law and intellectual property matters for the technology industry. She earned her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco and her BA from the University of California at Los Angeles. She currently serves as Associate VP of Content for Advice Company, managing content strategy, SEO and content marketing.
