James Williams III
Principal Trial Attorney
Lead partner at Burnett & Williams, Jim Williams is a summa cum laude graduate of George Mason University School of Law. He began his legal career as a law clerk for a US District Court Judge. He later was a litigator for Progressive Insurance where he gained extensive experience as a trial attorney. With Progressive he quickly learned the complexities of insurance law and how the defense side approaches litigation.
He has tried more than 100 personal injury jury cases and was appellate counsel. Jim Williams is a regular contributor of law journal articles on personal injury law and litigation issues. Born in France and raised in Germany, Jim grew up speaking German, French, and English.
In 2006, Jim founded The Beth Williams Field of Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit organization named after his late wife.
