Can a landlord give you 24 hours to decide whether or not you want to renew a lease?

Under the laws of all states in this country a landlord in a residential matter can demand that a tenant make a decision within a twenty-four (24) hour time frame to renew or not renew a lease. There is nothing improper per se about the short time period given.
