Will my boyfriend be legally responsible for my debts if we marry?

My boyfriend is 57 and disabled.
I am 65 and also on soc. sec.
I don’t want to be legally responsible for my debts such as taxes and credit cards if we marry.

Unless he is listed as a co-borrower or has expressly agreed to be liable for your debts, he will not become finacially responsible for them after your marriage (sometimes thing are different in a community proerty state but that MI is nit such a state). That having been said, to the extent that you may own joint assets, they can be seized or liened for your debts. So be sure to keep your respective assets seperate.
