In an "at will" employment relationship, a company can set the terms and conditons of work much as it sees fit or deems necessary. This includes who to schedule for hours and why. Therefore, unless this action violates the terms of an employment contract, union agreement or company policy, it is legal. Additionally, your treatment must not constitute some form of legally actionable discrimination. In other words, you must not receive different treatment due to your race, religion, nationality, age, disability, etc. Otherwise, under the law, not all employees need be treated the same or even fairly.
