There is no right to privacy in a situation such as this; your employer could discuss this phone call with whomever it pleased. Additionally, your employer need not have discussed the call with you unless your treatment breached the terms of an employment contract or union agreement. Further, the fact is that most employment is "at will", so a company can set the conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit(absent some form of legally actionable discrimination). This includes who to suspend and why. In fact, a worker can be suspended, fired or otherwise disciplined for any reason or no reason at all.
