What is the time period of landlord notifying me of an increase in rent?

It is in the lease THAT he can charge more but HE only gave me 9 days notice.

There is no time requirement unless speicified in the lease.  If there is insufficent time for you to move, ask him if you can stay month to month untill you find something else.
