What can I do about a company that ran my credit report with banks other than the one I gave concent to?

I when into a car dealership with a pre-approval letter from my bank. I told the sales manager that I was trying to repair my credit. I told him to run my credit through my bank only. I just received letter from 2 other banks that her ran my credit through.

There really is nothing to do. No, they should not have done this. But the law only provides compensation or remedies for provable and quantifiable (or definable) losses. The "loss" you suffer from additional credit checks is so difficult to establish, prove, and define that as a practical matter, there is no compensation available for it, and no government agencies also that would take any action.
